Happy Birthday to one of my favorite authors, George Orwell. Mr. George Orwell was born in India on 25th June, 1903 but was a British citizen who wrote the famous novels 'Nineteen eighty-four and Animal farm'. Mr. George sadly died on January 21, 1950 at just 46 years. This famous piece named 'Nineteen eighty-four' is the origin of the famous phrase "Big Brother". In the novel, a certain leader of Oceania named Big Brother is believed to see whatever the citizens were doing, no matter the level of secrecy applied. This total surveillance as depicted in the novel, kept the citizens in absolute fear because for whatever you are planning to do, it is believed that Big Brother will surely see you. Today, TV reality shows like 'Big Brother Naija' and 'Big Brother Africa' are showcasing the lines created by George Orwell in that famous novel(1984), whereby every action by contestants in those reality shows are seen by an unseen but heard 'Big Bro...

On the day June 5 1968, a Palestinian by name Sirhan Sirhan shot Robert Francis Kennedy, a brother to the 35th president of America(John F. Kennedy) at Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles just after he gave a speech in pursuit of his presidential bid. Remember, John F. Kennedy was as well assassinated in 1963 while in power as president.
