THE 'MAMMELOKKER'(The Breast Sucker)
The true nature of a woman as a mother is built in her ability to nurture. The act of care beautifies womanhood and sets strong the age-long belief that a mother is a life giver. 'Mammelokker' is a Dutch word which means 'Breast Sucker' in English language and the story of Pero and Simon(Cimon) depicts where breast sucking gave life and freedom. A certain old man in Greece named Simon was sentenced to death by starvation by the Roman authorities. The authorities found it not wise to kill him instantly but to keep him in prison without feeding him, so that on the ground of hunger and pain, he will simply die off. This certain prisoner named Simon, had a daughter named Pero who at the time her father was sentenced, begged the authorities to grant her the opportunity to be seeing her father everyday until he dies.
